On Tuesday, January 2,2018 I was assaulted by a dear friend having a mental health crisis. My injuries include two serious stab wounds that have me mentally and physically injured and unable to work for a few weeks. Thankfully the prognosis looks good and I will heal. As you can imagine, this is has been expensive and I anticipate more unpredictable expenses. I know January 2018 has been challenging at best for all of us so give if you can. Your many expressions of kindness and compassion in all forms is a priceless resource for myself and my wife Afeni at this time of difficulty. My heart goes out to the many people and their loved ones struggling with mental illness and I encourage you to reach out if you find yourself struggling. We all go through difficult times and it can feel impossible. Remember that you are worthy of love and it will get better in time.
