Mina’s Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
My sister Mina recently had a mastectomy due to a cancer tumor found on her left breast. The characteristic of this tumor is aggressive and does have a chance of returning or spreading. She will need to go through chemotherapy soon not only for prevention but to also make sure they treat other possible undetected cancer cells. She hopes to start next week (2nd week of January) which will be 4 rounds of chemotherapy every 21 days. After that, she will have regular monitoring and Herceptin infusions for the rest of the year. The treatment total is estimated to be 2 million pesos (about US $40k). She no longer works after being offered early retirement by Delta Air and her husband just started his job so his insurance will not cover any of this. Needless to say, her medical bills will be due each time she goes. Payment plans don’t seem to be an option in the healthcare industry there. As her sister, I know that I need to do something to help ease the situation. If you feel called to contribute, we THANK YOU in advance. No matter the amount, it will absolutely help in alleviating their worry, anxiety, and financial burden. We ask for your prayers that she would have the strength to withstand and bounce back from chemo and that she achieve complete healing.
