Intensive Physical Therapy for Milos
Donation protected
It has been a year and a half since Milos had a stroke at 5 years old. The cause of his stroke was from a brain hemorrhage due to the presence of an AVM - Arteriovenous Malformations in his brain. He survived brain surgery, endured one year of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and others.
At the present time, Milos lives with the residual effects of being a hemiparesis (having weakness on the left side of his body) but is fortunate to only struggle with limited use of his left hand and foot. His vision is diminished, as well, and he has deafness in the right ear. None of this has impacted his development. He is enjoying school and is very happy to have lots of friends.
Recovering from a stroke is a lifelong journey and Milos is a positive role model for those affected by stroke. We are raising money for a special two week therapy which will occur this December at Euro-Peds National Center, a nationally-recognized, hospital-based center that specializes in Intensive Pediatric Physical Therapy for children. This therapy is highly recommended by his current doctors but is not covered by insurance. It is very unique and they only accept a limited number of patients per session. We are lucky to have secured a spot for Milos. We are hoping to raise the necessary funds to cover his treatment.
Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes for Milos's fast recovery.
