Keep Simone Creating!!

Hi friends and fellow creators! My name is Simone! Originally hailing from Chicago, I relocated to STL a little over one year ago. Since coming here, I’ve learned SO much and connected with so many young creators of color that are throwing their sticks into the fire of the New Saint Louis Renaissance- a movement that was sparked by Ferguson and has ushered in a fight for equality amongst us in STL and beyond- through the arts. I am beyond honored to be able to participate in this astounding revolution. So much so, I founded a network/ collective - creator. Brand, which focuses on uniting creators of all backgrounds and mediums to share resources, support one another, and eventually occupy a space and become entrepreneurs with our art. And guess what, y’all? In order to provide that for others, I need to pave the way. In the words of the amazing Chancellor Bennet from 79th- “ The People’s Champ must be everything the people can’t be”—- (yet). So how am I doing it? By working full time to create. And I know I cannot do that alone. Since starting creator. Brand- my team and I have successfully and independently curated three guerilla (or pop up) fashion shows, pitched the brand at the Saint Louis Fashion Fund’s creative process event, as well as shot with Marie Claire magazine- and we are JUST getting started. Did I mention we do all of our shows FREE of charge?? (Got that one from Chance, too.) So how can you help?
