AWOM Foundation New Year Fundraiser!Dear Family & Friends,We are very proud to say that the foundation and our small team has now grown to a board of some pretty incredible women that want to help change lives! Welcome, Jessica Akiba, Annabelle DeGrazio, Annie Chapur, and Sara Ferne Kanfer. In 2017, we have accomplished so much being one hundred percent hands on, and we do not plan on changing that. Our accomplishments this year:AWOM Time Talks: A monthly support group for people who have lost a loved one, where anyone is welcome to come speak about their loss. AWOM Girls Club every Friday at Olsen Middle School where Sarah goes and speaks to them about female leadership, anti- bullying, love, loss, and compassion, while bringing in other female leaders to teach them their specialties. This year bringing in blogger Dianna Hughes, Yogis and coaches Ashley Ibarra & Rachel Novetsky for yoga and meditation, Director of E-Commerce for Unknwn and an amazing human being to teach them on “what to eat” - Sara Ferne. Giving these girls their first time to try simple things like cucumbers, broccoli, and raspberries.  Ronnie Fieg, CEO of Kith, also donating 300 composition books where the girls have a safe space to write anything they feel. Also, we reached out to illustrator and letterer Ann Shen who donated her book “100 Bad Girls Throughout History” to so many of the girls. We also hosted a fashion show for the girls in March for the Mother Daughter Tea party where they got free hair, makeup, and wardrobe with the help of volunteers making these girls feel beautiful, while giving their testimonies on their hardships as young women. We did the same thing for their Prom and got them dresses from Rachael Russells Style Saves and free hair and makeup by Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers. We put together a last minute Hurricane Relief at the Aventura Mall with the help of our community, where we gathered 15 palettes worth of goods to send to the people affected in Houston and the islands. We also hosted our Halloween Party at Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital thanks to Seitles & Litwin Law Group, with the help of so many volunteers and Dj Coco Hara, where we put smiles on not only the childrens faces, but their families going through difficult times. For Thanksgiving and the help of so many incredible people we were able to feed 100 families at Olsen Middle School that could not provide meals for their family. We even added table settings so that they could have a beautiful table for the holidays, and I did not stop until I could get 100 warm pies. Whats a Thanksgiving without a good pie?We finished off the year hosting a holiday party for Miami Childrens Hospitals psychiatric center thanks to Kai Art for his donation giving the kids bags where they got to fill up with so many gifts. Also, having Dj Millz show them love through her music. This was so special being that this part of the hospital seems to be “forgotten” all year round. We plan to do much more with them in 2018.So, we need your help to continue this going into 2018! We would like to raise enough funds to get us through January and February for girls club and our support groups! We need to raise $2500 for those two months. When we say every dollar counts, we truly mean every single dollar counts. The dollar store is our best friend and goes a very long way for our groups! Please share, spread the love, and help us reach our goal! We have 5 days before January 1st and we need to reach our goal before midnight on the 31st! Get involved and be our Angel!
