Cassidy, Matt and their sweet, little, daughter, were super excited to be expecting a baby brother the middle of March. However, on December 14th, after not feeling well for quite some time, it was discovered that Cassidy was in active labor. She was diagnosed with a Polyhydramnios which is a medical condition describing an excess of amniotic fluid in the amniotic sac. It is seen in about 1% of pregnancies. It is typically diagnosed when the amniotic fluid index (AFI) is greater than 24. After several attempts to stop labor and a shot to speed up the babies lung development, she was flown flight-for life to Denver. When she arrived in Denver, they attempted to stop labor by removing some of the excess amniotic fluid, but in the process, this caused an abruption of the placenta. It was then necessary for Cassidy to deliver their baby, because now, both of their lives were in danger.Their sweet, baby boy was born on December 15 (13 weeks early) weighing 2lbs, 10 oz and was 14 1/2 inches long. It is necessary for him to receive a high level of intensive care right now and this means he will have to remain in Denver for the next 3 months. Cassidy will have to stay in Denver as well, so she can be close for care times and supply the breastmilk for their new babies feedings. Matt, and their almost two-year-old will be traveling back and forth from Casper (4 hours one way). The expenses associated with travel, the extended stay, and accumulating medical expenses are the reason for this Go-Fund-Me account. Please do what you can to help this sweet, little family. Anything is greatly appreciated.
