Meet Jeff, A Father In Need Of Help

Meet Jeff, a fifty-one year old loving husband and father of six kids and seven grandchildren.  Jeff has always been a very strong and independent man taking care of his family’s needs first. In 2005, Jeff had a bowel obstruction caused by a desmoids tumor that blocked the first part of his small intestine; he had a bypass to pass the blockage from the small intestine. The desmoids tumor was attached to the Mesenteric Artery which is the main artery that supplies blood to the body’s organs. Due to Jeff’s youth, the doctors thought that it would be best for him to have radiation treatment that was two times the amount that is of an older person who has this condition.  In 2006 he had another tumor that was in the transverse colon, which he then had to have four inches of his colon removed. Now, 10 years later, Jeff is having complications from all the radiation treatment. There is a build-up of scar tissue from surgery which has caused another blockage in his colon, and it does not allow his stomach to empty. Because of the two blockages, he is not getting the nutrition that his body needs. On December 5, 2017, he had a j-tube put into his stomach to connect to the intestine to help waste get passed the blockages, but this did not work. They had to place an I-V pick line straight into his vein to provide his body the nutrition it needs. Due to his body trying to get used to the pick line, it has been rejected and he has been hospitalized Jeff needs our help so he can continue his life with his family. With the treatment that was received came the side effects, and Jeff is currently dealing with a stomach and upper intestine that are completely non-functioning. The doctors give Jeff high hopes if treatment works. The estimated cost for him to be on this treatment everyday is $150,000.00 per year. This includes the weekly visit from the nurse to check his blood so they can personalize each weekly feeding and servicing of all materials to make sure he is not going to get an infection during the changing of the pick line.     Our family and friends would love your help and support to make sure Jeff can survive another battle in his life.
