Breann's Brain Surgery

Meet Breann! She is 5 years old beauty that has been fighting Epilepsy since July 2015. Breann has a twin sister and 2 older brothers, a strong Mommy and a Daddy that has served our country for 11 1/2 years now. Breann has gone through a crazy amount of testing including hospital stays at TCH several MRI's PETscans, bloodwork and genetics testing! She has gone through so much to get the answers her parents longed for. Now the answers are here, and it's not the answers we wanted or even expected but it what we have. After 2 1/2 years Breann was recently diagnosed with Cortical Dysplasia in the left temporal lobe.(Cortical dysplasia occurs when the top layer of the brain does not form properly. It is one of the most common causes of epilepsy. The most common type of cortical dysplasia is focalcortical dysplasia (FCD). ... This type usually involves the temporal lobe of the brain.) unfortunately this is a non retractable epilepsy. Breann has been on several medications to try and stop her seizures. While they have slowed them down they are not stopping. With that being said the only other option for Breann is Brain surgery. January 8,2018)Not something any child or parent ever even wants to think about. While Breann is a strong girl and has taken every test like a champ her mommy and daddy want to crumble. They are scared, worried , nervous and happy all at the same time. This surgery will help Breann and change her life. Her mommies only wish is for Breann to "Live a normal life like a kid" So if you could first and foremost please say a prayer for her. We serve and big God and he is in control and we trust in him with our whole hearts. Now to ask for the help no one ever wants to do. This surgery will be done in 2 steps that will require hospital stays, countless missed days of work and parking tickets, food and gas back and fourth to the hospital daily. We want her parents to be completely focused on Breann and not about all the extra stuff that comes along with this event.
