Family Emergency

My name is Stephanie Wyscarver and I am a single mother to Aiden who turns 9 in January.

Aiden is in the 3rd grade and attends Swanson Elementary. We have lived in the Elmwood Park area for almost 8 years.

I am writing this letter in hopes to seek some financial relief. I am currently battling a very difficult custody case which has been long, emotional, overwhelming and has basically exhausted my savings and then some in order to obtain and continue expert counsel. Thus far the bills have neared $10,000. We just scheduled a trial date for November and the required retainer due to continue my case is $10,000.

I have had sole custody of Aiden since 2016 when I exited a very volatile and abusive relationship with his father. He has very limited time with Aiden twice a month due to the gravity of his actions. Even with the rules in place, he continues to be unreliable, disregards them and poses threats to our life. He is both psychologically and emotionally abusive and puts Aiden in unsafe predicaments. Last year, he decided to attempt challenging the custody order and from there a giant task of fighting and Advocating our case so that the custody remains with me and we can add more safety barriers to his interactions.

Having to ask for help is not something I take lightly. I ask you from the bottom of my heart , if there is anything you can do to help us at this time I would be so very grateful.
