Susan's Incredible Journey

Susan is my aunt. She is more. She has been an incredible example of strength and preserverance. I remember crying as a child because she got married and I knew she would never be my same auntie. She would take my sister and I everywhere, even encouraging us to call her mom to get the many compliments of "how good she looked for having children!" She was a force of nature. Tall, thin and beautiful inside and out! She modeled and loved to play practical jokes. She was always laughing or smiling with an infectious grin. She had 3 children. Although joyous it came with heartache. Her marriage ended, not by her choice and was left alone with children with special needs. She poured her enitre being into these children. Hours of therapy and never complained. You could see she was tired, but she never said a word. Those early years were hard for her, but it was her job and she considered it an honor. As the years went on she was diagnosed with Celiac. She had been diagnosed so late in life that it had done some major damage to her body. She also acquired secondary illness due to the Celiac with Rheumatoid Arthritis to the point of having the inability to move her hands freely. She also has had bone degeneration. The place where it is most prevelant and is also the most heartbreaking is that it has effected her teeth. Most have them have fallen out. I get misty eyed as I write this thinking of the big, beautiful, contagious smile that no longer exsists. Her mouth remains closed a lot now. Not wanting to show the damage. I have started this page because Susan has been alone for many years, living far away from family and having no real friends to speak of. No church family, nothing but her children. I think of just how many friends I have. The family that is within 10 minutes from me and church family I have adopted as family. I can't imagine not having that. Can you? I would ask that you prayerfully consider donating to her. We are trying to get her set up in her new home in Connecticut. She has no job, because she can't leave her son. Up until God opened this door for Susan her only other option was womens homeless center that she was happy to go to if it meant she had a somewhere to lay her head. Her health insurance was stripped from her in Maine so she is currently without medication she needs and coverage. We will be working to get her set up with health insurance and other assistance, but it will be a long road for her. I don't know why God has chosen her to deal with all this. I can only imagine it is because he knew she had the faith and countenance to handle it. I'm not sure I could of. Honestly looking at it.....could you have? Please donate, and make a difference.
