Hi and thanks for visiting my page. I'm Kim, I'm 33 and married with two small boys. In October 2014, 6 months after giving birth to my second son, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I did 6 rounds of chemo, mastectomy and 15 sessions of radiotherapy. Two months after finishing all this treatment I found out it had come back but it the other side. Another mastectomy, more chemo and more radiotherapy followed. About six months later I had a cancerous lymph node removed from my chest so it has really not given up easily!
It is a persistent bugger because at the beginning of May 2017 I was told that it had now set up camp in my lung. This means it is now stage 4/secondary/metastatic/incurable.....terminal.
I have since had oral chemo and I've been on a trial at St Barts, both of which didn't work and the cancer in my lungs has got worse and also spread to lymph nodes in my neck and chest. I tried Paclitaxol chemo and went into anaphylactic shock within 2 mins! That's one not to try again. So I am now on my 6th different chemo and praying it works.
I know that eventually I will run out of options that the NHS have to offer and will be left to it. I have no idea when that will be, but could be in 6-12 months if none of the nhs treatment works at all. Now my children are 5 and 3 and need their mummy around for as long as possible so I need to be able to explore every option available here in the UK and also anywhere abroad. I will not be giving up without a fight. But this will not be cheap unfortunately and that is where this fund comes in.
Please if you could spare anything to our fund, myself and my family will be forever grateful. There will also be fundraisers to add to the kitty too!
