WONDERGIRL fighting brain cancer

Donation protected
Most of you who know me or my family know her story but for those of you who don't.. My daughter was a healthy child. No illnesses other than a common cold. The day that changed our lives forever was a normal day just like the other days before. On October 19, 2017, the school called and told me that my daughter complained of a headache and had fallen unresponsive and had to be taken by ambulance to Tuomey Hospital. By the time I made it there they had already given her a CT scan and informed me she was bleeding on her brain and having seizures. She had to be intubated. They informed me she needed to be needed to be on a life flight to Palmetto Health Children's hospital ASAP.  We left Tuomey to meet her there.  After making it to Palmetto Health she still had not made it . After reaching out to Tuomey, we found out that one of her lungs collasped and her O2 levels dropped drastically and they had to insert a chest tube. They were having trouble stablizing her.  After some tense moments we finally saw the helicopter land. We watched as my 6 year old daughter was wheeled off the landing pad into the hospital.  We did not get to see her again until about 11pm that night in pediatric ICU. She had tubes and lines coming from everywhere. As the days went by she lay there unresponsive and after a series of tests the doctors ruled it to be a brain tumor. She underwent surgery 5 days later. Dr. Mclung-Smith(her neurosurgeon and our angel) got most of the tumor out but there is still some left because it is near her brain stem. Afterward we found the tumor to be cancerous. During surgery, she suffered a stroke and her entire left side was affected. She recovered from surgery with a fighting spirit that we knew was in her from the beginning. After leaving PICU she was transferred to the regular floor to being therapy. She left Palmetto Health on November 15, 2017 to head to Levine's Children Hospital in Charlotte NC for 3 weeks for aggressive therapy  to help her regain strength on her left side. She was discharged on December 5 and her father and I have not left her side since Day 1. As a result I've had to stop working to take care of her needs on a daily basis and she is recovering with determination, resilience, courage that you don't always see in a young child.  Her spirit has not wavered and she is learning to live with her battle every day and is working hard to overcome it. She has a long battle ahead of her and we are fighting everyday to win this WAR!. With the grace of God she will overcome! Any donations will be greatly appreciated to be used in the mounting financial struggles that are here and sure to come. If you can't donate, we also accept prayers and words of encouragement.  Also want to thank our family and friends that have been here with us from day one this far. We love and appreciate you for everything! God Bless Everyone and thank you in advance! #ALEXISSTRONG
