2 Families Lose Everything in House Fire
Yesterday, on January 24th two families suffered a devastating loss due to a house fire. They evacuated their home at 2am when they were awaken by the house’s fire alarms. The fire was fought by New Bedford’s courageous fire department and also assisted by Dartmouth, Acushnet, Mattapoisett, Fairhaven fire departments, as well as Providence Canteen until 6:40am and throughout the day as hot spots continuously ignited. Though they remained hopeful, it is now known that nothing is salvageable from the rubble which was once their home.
Everyone evacuated their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. I have created this page in an effort to help them purchase necessary essentials. Of course, there is nothing that can be done to help recover the irreplaceable memories and keepsakes. However, many of you have already reached out wanting to donate to help with costs for basic necessities.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. It is heartbreaking when such a devastating loss is suffered by such good people.
For others with preference of Venmo, donations can also be sent to.
