Tom's Recovery

It was a perfect fall day, as fall days go. Even with all this "Pandemic" issue affecting us all, the freedom of riding is always there.

While out enjoying the freedom of the road with a few other motorcycle riders, Tom had a wee mishap on this perfect fall day. Proceeding from a complete stop, turning left onto the main drag of the town.. turned a little too much into the curve and went down.

He said his left hip was really the only thing that made him go.. HMMM "that ain't right". So, he was chauffeured to the local ER in the fancy white vehicle with flashy lights. (Always in Style Tom!)

It was Saturday at 3:10 when I got the text to: "Tell Tanya call me now".  That's when I knew. UH-OH..
From what Tom explained,,, THIS WAS NOT THE CALL I WANTED TO MAKE to Tanya.  I'm pretty sure where were curse words mixed in....  All we can say, he's still on the right side of the dirt! He was awake, in discomfort, but waiting for some tests.

The result, a broken pelvis. To look at the positive. It wasn't shattered, only the left side was affected. They had to do some fancy mechanco things (pins in the leg) to move the leg to get proper imaging.  Long story short. He needed surgery. It was relatively short and came out swimmingly,, with some extra parts inside to put Tom back together.

Because he was doing so well, the hospital released him Monday night, walker and crutches are the new fashion accessories.. (please insert jokes about age and walker, he'll like that LOL) 

Though there are some benefits, accidents like this, not all things are covered. No short term disability, bills come up rather quick. Tanya was able to stay home for a couple of days, but needs to return to work.

No one can ever be truly prepared for life altering accidents. So I'm calling on all of   Tom and Tanya's friends and family for a little help. I've known T&T for over 20 years. They are MY family. I can only do so much. I KNOW things are tough all around. However, if you still get yourself a Timmy's in the morning,  maybe you can skip it and help Tom. I know with the vast community we have, surely we can help in the short term. Any help is truly appreciated!
