Post 2nd Aneurysm surgery for Misty

From Kendall Mistys daughter:            In 2011, my mother Misty suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that nearly took her life. Fortunately for her, the hospital staff on shift was able to find & arrange the medical care she needed to save her life. Since this initial rupture, she has suffered another aneurysm rupture in 2015 along with numerous strokes that have left her left side numb & partially paralyzed, therefore of little use. Despite being lucky enough to be living & walking today, she is unable to work & make use of her bachelor’s degree she received shortly before her first rupture. Currently my mom has what is considered to be a large hole in her right temple as a result of a half skull craniotomy to work on her 2nd aneurysm, and desperately needs it closed in hopes it will improve related issues. My mother regularly has debilitating migraines that leave her unable to see, which are exasperated by the severe pain of skull plates shifting & the hole in her temple opening as it attempts to heal. In order to continue treating her medical needs in the best way possible, she needs to move to Florida to be within driving distance of medical professionals who can properly care for her. After searching with her neurosurgeon, Misty was able to find 2 surgeons at the Mayo Clinic in Florida who are able to perform the procedures she so desperately needs. These surgeons will be closing the hole in my mother’s temple as well as doing a reed implant procedure which will hopefully help her live without the daily debilitating pain she currently experiences. After discussing her medical records and current needs with her current neurosurgeon & the surgeons in Florida, she was informed her insurance was accepted & the surgeons are willing to take on her case. Thankfully, my cousin Tina lives 20 minutes away from the Mayo clinic and has offered to provide housing & care for my mom during these procedures & recovery. All this leaves is travel expenses, which my mother needs as much help as she can get with since her medical history has left her unable to work & provide for herself. She currently needs $2775 to cover the expenses of a one-way uhaul to Florida with insurance, as well as fuel on the way so she and my younger sibling can stay with Tina.
