Unfortunately, Amerykah was taken back into the O.R. yesterday to amputate another toe. At this point we are watching how her foot will heal. This is very important. Please keep her in your thoughts. Than you to each and everyone of you for your support and donations!!****
On the morning of Friday 10/11/13 my sister Amerykah was thrown from her motorcycle after being struck by a vehicle. She was on her way to work in the early morning hours and the vehicle was making an illegal U-turn. She was thrown pretty far and rolled a good distance.
She sustained a punctured lung, 5 broken ribs, a broken clavicle (which was pinned back in place during surgery), a fractured right foot, and a fractured left. One of her toes had to be amputated and she suffered severe road rash and open wounds, etc.
Amerykah will heal with time and beyond that she is alive! Her bike was totaled and she is employed in the service industry and will not be able to return to work immediately.
Struggling with medical and personal expenses can be a lonely and intimidating feeling. She will have mounting medical bills along with her monthly bills while she's out of work.
