Recently I have been given an opportunity to be a part of something that could potentially change the course of the rest of my life.
For a long time now I have been involved in worship ministry. I have been playing the drums since I was 11, and I have been leading worship since I was 16. The drums quickly became something more to me than merely just a hobby. I learned that this skill was a gift. I knew that God gave me this gift to be used for Him.
I have been seeking God for the past year on my direction in music. I have been praying that He would show me what I'm supposed to do or where I'm supposed to go, which is a common struggle for many people my age. Trying to figure out what God has for my life has been one of the hardest things to be patient for. But I keep trusting that His timing is better than mine.
About a month ago God put something along my path. Something to me that is very big and out of my scope of reality. I have been accepted to participate in the Bethel Worship School this summer. I filled out the application trusting that if God did not want me to go that He would shut the door. So when I received the news that I had been accepted I felt such a huge relief and a burden being lifted.
Now this is the hard part; finances. This trip is going to cost quite a bit of money. Money that I cannot acquire myself. This is why I am making this campaign. One thing I have learned so far in my spiritual walk is that God is bigger than our finances. In Matthew 6, Jesus speaks about God's provision, and how we do not need to be anxious over our needs because God is over all of the things that we need. In Phillipians 4:19 Paul writes, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus". I believe that God will provide what I need to do this if this is what He has me to do. I will not let money get in the way of how God is moving in my life.
The donations to my campaign will be used for things such as travel, food, living space, and tuition. The school is from July 9-20 in Redding, CA. I have made my $100 deposit to secure my spot in the school. The deadline for half of my tuition is due by April 1, and the full tuition amount is due by May 16. I have been informed by the school that my tuition does not include traveling costs, food, or a place to stay.The amount I am campaigning for includes cost for tuition, travel,food, and where I will be living.
