LGBTQ Refugee Fundraiser Appeal

Dear friends, my name is Ivan Sibiya (at the center in the pic) I am an Lgbtq refugee claimant in Edmonton Canada. I came to Canada on August 19th 2016 to save my life, after I had been abducted and tortured together with my friend who died following the injuries sustained during the torture and beatings we underwent. I was taken to hospital after I was found unconscious and dumped in a coffee plantation. When I came to Canada I made my refugee claim and I had no legal representation to help me prepare my case and I presented myself for my refugee hearing. The decision for my claim was negative and under limited time urgently hired a lawyer to make an appeal application for my case. The Lawyer I hired was inexperienced and did not prepare my case well and my appeal was dismissed. Through friends and St. Paul's United Church, I have been able to get a good lawyer to take up my case to help me get protection in Canada and secure my life for if I am forced to return to my country of origin, I will face more persecutions and death. I am faced with a burden of raising $5000 to pay the Lawyer who has taken up my case. I am appealing for your kind support to help me raise this money to help me secure my life in Canada and allow me to stay alive. I am appealing and pleading to the government and the people of Canada to help me save my life. My future is uncertain and depends on the government of Canada. Kindly help me.
