The Everest Dream
We are The IMC Project.We are based in Saltcoats in Ayrshire.
We are a Scottish registered charity.Inspire Motivate Celebrate.Nos SC045084.We run a boxing club which is affiliated to Boxing Scotland.Our main focus is to get our youngsters off the Streets and focussed into something positive through fitness and wellbeing.Whatever that youngster wants to be in life we try and make that pathway as easy for them as possible.We are shaping our youngsters and adults into being better people.Since we started we have had over a thousand young people come through our doors.It is all free of charge.
We run a Foodbank and also have a community fridge outside our premises which is open 24/7 for anyone in need to help themselves to free food.We played an integral part in our community during the Covid pandemic.We were delivering food and meals daily within our communities.We were on call 24/7 to help with our local Council,North Ayrshire Council.We were right in the heart of it helping out and still are.
We have adopted land in our Town for which we will be turning into a remembrance and reflection garden for those who sadly lost their lives due to Covid.
We also have a beach wheelchair to give access to those who struggle to get on to our beaches.
We are trying to raise funds to take a group of youngsters to trek to Everest BaseCamp.It will be a journey like no other.They will be walking the same path as Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.It will be an unforgettable experience for them..It will be a trip they will never forget,from the wonderful Sherpa culture to that breathtaking sight of Everest and its peaks.
We will be doing different fundraisers along the way to help with this.Please keep your eyes on social media and the press.
As you can imagine this sort of trip is not cheap,but we need to dream big.
Our goal is to take our youngsters free of charge.If we can’t raise the funds all donations will be returned to those who donated.
