Mark Smith Cancer Fighting Fund

Hey, my name is Danielle Sanchez. I'm Mark Smiths niece. My sister Ashley Briley and I have felt helpless since hearing the news of my uncle and maybe some of you have to. Started a GO Fund me page to both help and to get the information out there. So last Monday Mark Smith headed to the ER with his wife Ronda for treatment on what we thought at the time was pneumonia. He had been very sick for over a week and just wasn't getting better. His lungs had filled up with fluid making breathing hard. They drained over 2 liters of fluid off his chest then kept him for observation. After some testing we were given a pre diagnosis. Cancer. Later that day they were told they will be releasing him from the hospital because their insurance is not covering anything due to his admission being for "observation".Imagine the added stress this put on them. After being released we were given hope that he may not have cancer after all. They scheduled a procedure for Friday which would tell us. After going in to do surgery they found that it wasn't an infection. It's Cancer and it's not good. The surgeon has came in and said the Oncologist will want to react IMMEDIATELY. Mark is still admitted to the hospital and we don't know when he will get to go home. This is expensive and while they have insurance it's still going to be extremely costly. The Smiths would never ask for this as they feel undoubtedly blessed but I know this would help them and would relieve an added stress. If you know the Smiths you know that they have spent their life volunteering and serving in the schools, their church and in the community constantly trying to help others. This is a small way we can help them now when they need it. Currently information is still coming in and as I find out more will update. They are asking for prayers. For strength. For answers. For positive results. For time. For understanding. They know their undying faith will get them through this no matter what. Words of encouragement that they can read their convenience are as big a part of this effort as much as the contributions.
