Hand Controls for Adam!

ATTENTION FELLOW TERYX RIDERS, and any one who wants to help!!! THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION..... First of all, my name is Blain Cooper and a lot of you know me, and many more of you do not..But this is not about me, so if I can have a few minutes of your time? Please continue to read.. It was recently brought to my attention that one of our fellow Teryx riders was in need of a little help. And in that process have acquired a couple(or more) new friends. And before I get to deep into this, one of them new friends is a young man named Adam Green. And happens to be the fellow in question here.. Some of you may know Adam as he is a member of a couple of our popular Teryx groups.. But what most of us do not know, is Adam is paralyzed from the armpits down, with very little use of fingers.. This all from a tragic dirt bike accident when he was only 18 years old. Adam is now 31.. 13 years in a wheelchair is something most of us couldn’t fathom. But also most know you just can’t give up. You have to go on living. Make the best of what you have left, and be grateful for it.. And Adam has done his best to do just that..And without going into to much details, his injuries stem from a horrific accident of teenage kid on dirt bike, and a collision head on with an oncoming vehicle.. So the thought of getting back behind the wheel of anything was a big step.. And after being in the hospital for a while myself from a recent accident, that resulted in some similar injuries but a far more fortunate outcome. This story kinda hit close to home. So let me continue. Adam has a 2016 Teryx that currently he only gets to enjoy as a passenger.. But through the process of this story I find out that he can drive said sxs himself, had he have some hand controls and a steering wheel assist..So after doing a little digging and question asking, I find out that these controls can be purchased for a little over 600$us, and the steering wheel assist for less than 200$us.. And it got me thinking.. How would it be to be in a situation where 800$ or so could be the difference in getting outside, enjoying the air, sun, and nature.On top of the pure joy it is to get to drive a Teryx, vs the only mobility you have is a wheelchair.. And thought there has to be something I can do.. Well under my current circumstances my injuries unfortunately have me not working a regular job as well.. So, I knew I needed to employ the help of some friends and associates.. First calls are to Marc Garringer and Josh Hall. Both of which willing volunteered to do whatever it is they can to help.. As for what the plans are to raise these funds, I’m standing by as well and letting Marc help with that.. Whether it be raffles, silent auctions, group rides, or simply this GoFundMe and monetary donations, this is Marc’s, Josh’s and myself’s callout to take action, and get Adam back behind the wheel. I will post some photos of Adam and the controls and assist if needed.. If anyone out there has information on the manufactures, contacts, or even something similar that could possibly work to make this as safe and functional as we possibly can, please, please speak up or pm one of us.. I have been in contact with Simpson Racing Products and another popular seat manufacturer, both of which said they are on board to help. But still waiting to see what comes of either. And as I am a impatient person, waiting still to hear from the head of the seat division in California from Simpson Racing, have decided that it’s time to call on my fellow Teryx riders and make this happen.. Where talking about less than 2000$ folks.. That’s 20 cents apiece from not even every Team Teryx member.. We can do this guys and gals.. This is not something Adam has ask for. This is merely friends speaking, and spreading the word that these simple controls could give this guy some freedoms back... So stay tuned to hear from Marc as to how we proceed, and as to where an donations could be sent.. But as for now, like, comment, and share the heck out this and let’s see if we can spread the word and make this happen.. Also i would like to add. Even though Adam is aware that we are trying to help in some way. He doesn’t know to what extent. So even though this is public, please nobody mention it to him personally.I have been in contact with his mother as well and she is aware of what we are trying to do.I thank all of you who decide to help, and all who have volunteered to help in advance!
