Hello!
My name is Trina Littlechild-Rattlesnake (nee Goodwill) and I am initiating this fundraising campaign in hopes of offsetting the unforeseen costs associated with my recent medical crisis.
Due to a series of unfortunate events, I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 Charcot Neuropathic Osteoarthropathy (CN).
The devastating severity of my condition has resulted in permanent disability, wheel chair confinement, foot deformity and imminent amputation.
Unfortunately, my diagnosis is further complicated by several underlying and pre-existing factors, namely:
- Type 1 Diabetes- MRSA+ (Antibiotic Resistance Virus)- Severe Allergy to most antibiotics (Vancomycin, Clindamycin, Septra)
- Linezolid is the last line of defence Antibiotic available to me but remains Uncovered by AANDC
* these factors combined result in slower healing times, susceptibility to serious infection and lengthy hospital stays.
Despite the financial hardships associated with this life change, which is further compounded by my inability to work, I dutifully remain the sole provider and primary caregiver to my two wonderful children, ages 12 & 13 yrs.
My main concern is the safety and well being of them during this ordeal. Due to limited external support, I have struggled with obtaining child care during my necessary and unavoidable absences. I would like to find a in-home support person to care for them in an attempt to minimize further disruptions to their daily lives such as school absences.
Lastly, I am an extremely private and wholly independent person whom has successfully faced many personal obstacles in recent years and have continued to persevere as such.
As difficult as it may be to ask for help, I am absolutely appreciative to receive your support!
Fundraising Allocation:
Medical expenses: to alleviate the costs of pertinent medications and misc. not covered by AANDC
ex. Linezolid - October 2017 treatment($2000 per day x 10 days=$20,000)
Total Contact Casting:
Specialized Diabetic casting
$500-600/week
5-8 weeks minimum

Adaptive Equiment: I am currently using adaptive equipment that is temporarily on loan but need to purchase items for permanent, long term & personal use, ex. wheel-chair, bed railing, shower chair etc.
Transportation: Approx. 2hr+ total driving distance to U of A hospital, Specialists appointments & Rehabilitation
Child care: to hire a support person to provide adequate in-home childcare for minor children during numerous medical appointments and lengthy hospital stays.
