Help Pete get a Kidney
Donation protected
My brother Peter Graniela, age 36, is the sole provider for a family of four. He is a sweet, funny, compassionate guy who has been struggling with Type 1 diabetes since the young age 4. He is now suffering from long term consequences of the disease. After going blind (diabetic retinopathy) for 2 months Christmas of 2008, he has received 50+ eye surgeries to preserve the little vision he has left, resulting in serious medical debt.
Summer 2012 Peter fell into a life threatening coma. Doctors told us to call the family, that he wouldn't make it, but miraculously he did. Peter awoke with acute kidney failure and is now in need of a transplant. He is currently undergoing dialysis 3 days a week, while putting in overtime at work whenever possible. Peter is exhausted, sick and running himself thin. Although he qualifies for a living transplant, his social worker is holding back the procedure because he and has family will have no means of support while he is healing, which can take up to 3 months. These bills will only be adding to the hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical debt he has already inquired.
I have never known anyone more patient, humble, fun loving and genuinely whole hearted than my brother Pete and I really hope I can gather enough funds to help him just as much as he's helped me.
