Since 2015 we have been fortunate enough to find success in contests across the UK. We've reached the final of the British National Quartet Contest on both attempts, and in 2016 were proud to win the British National Youth competition; we are the youngest quartet ever to do so.
In 2018 we qualified to represent Britain in the International Youth Quartet competition, which takes place in July 2018 in Orlando, Florida. This is a huge honour for us, and we are incredibly grateful to have been given this opportunity.
That said, sending 4 young singers across the Atlantic is not a cheap operation! Thankfully there is funding available from the Barbershop Harmony Society - which runs the contest - as well at the British Association of Barbershop Singers, which we have applied for. However, this will only cover some of the costs involved, which we estimate to be around £6000.
So we're calling on the historically epic kindness and generosity of the barbershop community, as well as anyone outsite that community who feels they can support us. Anything you can give to help us on our way will be hugely appreciated.
Entering the International Contest is a very exciting opportunity for us, and your donation would take us one step closer to realising a long-term goal for the members of our quartet. We would be forever grateful if you gave even a small amount to help!
Thanks in advance,
Jamie, Peter, Nick, and Calvin
