Linda's Medical funds

Linda Vargas-Westbrooks is a mother, wife, daughter, friend, and coworker.  She is kind, compassionate, strong-willed, outgoing, and a joy to be around.  Unfortunately, in September of 2015, she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  She underwent chemotherapy and radiation for the next year.  Due to the exposure of the chemotherapy and radiation her heart started to fail to the point of hospitalization for weeks at a time.  Even with the odds against her she still made it to work with a smile on her face.  At the beginning of 2017 Linda found out the she was going through advanced congestive heart failure.  In September of 2017 Linda was admitted to the ICU unit of Mayo Clinic where doctors put six garden hose tubes in her heart to strengthen the muscle.  After weeks of surgeries, heavy sedation, being on a ventilator, and days of paralysis, she underwent open heart surgery to remove all of the devices helping her heart function.  That was not the end for Linda; because of everything she went through, her body formed a blood clot in her left leg that has left her unable to feel or move it.  Linda has fought through everything she has been through and will continue to fight.  Linda has a six year old daughter who is the light of her life and her husband, Vance, who is her rock, is doing everything he can to keep their daughter’s life as normal as possible.  Sadly, Linda has had to take a leave of absence from her job which has left her husband to pay the full amount of hers and their daughter’s health insurance, on top of all of her medical payments.  While working nights and visiting Linda during the day, Vance is doing what he can to get by on a one income basis.
