On September 24 2017, Vanda's (my mother) house caught fire.

The house was completely destroyed. The cause could not be determined. The house had to be demolished to put out the blaze. Everything in my childhood home was lost. The good news: No one was hurt, including the family pets. Mom was not home at the time. The property clean up has already been done and is ready for a new home. The less than good news: She is still without a home. Due to matters with her previous mortgage company she may not be able to get one as quickly as we would like. Mortgage criteria has changed, and she is a widow on a fixed income. A new septic system needs to be put in place, and since the old one wasn't damaged in the fire, it unfortunately will not be covered by insurance. The plan: Ideally she would like to have a mini home put on the property. Once a new septic system has been put in place that should be able to happen. The current struggle is financing for a mini home. Mom is currently trying to get funding for her mini home, which is proving difficult. All donations will go to Vanda, firstly to get the septic system taken care of. Everything after that will go towards the new home. Any donation of any amount is appreciated. I will update the story as new information becomes available. Thank you for reading and helping Mom get her new home.
