Please help with my Breast Cancer Treatments

My name is Devania Barnett. I am 40 years old and a mother to two beautiful children- a boy 11 and a girl 6. I live in Rockland, NY. I worked at Quest Diagnostics as a Histotechnologist. In January 2022 I decided to go check a lump I felt in my right breast. I went in for a primary check up on February 11, 2022. The doctor told me it felt suspicious so she gave me referral for a mammogram and an ultrasound for my breast. On February 17, 2022 I went in for the Mammogram and ultrasound, after the ultrasound was done and I was getting dressed, I got a call from radiologist saying that the lump looks suspicious and they wanted me to have a biopsy the next day. On February 18, 2022 I did a biopsy on two masses in my right breast and the lymph node under my right arm. On February 21, 2022 , a date I will never forget, the doctor called me at 4:55pm to tell me the lifechanging news- I have cancer-stage 3 Invasive Carcinoma Triple Negative breast cancer. This is a rare aggressive type. I will be doing 16 rounds of chemo, 12 rounds of Taxol and 4 rounds of the ‘Red Devil’ and immunotherapy for one year, a bilateral mastectomy and then radiation.

My treatment journey started on March 7, 2022 with the placement of the medical port so I could start chemo on March 9, 2022. The chemo has taken all my energy. It's been rough to say the least. I have experienced most of the side effects-nausea, fatigue, muscle pain, neuropathy, swollen eye, sore throat and mouth. My immune system has been compromised and I have to be very careful not to get an infection.

My treatment so far means I have been unable to work. Needless to say, I have been struggling. Gofundme is the last route I imagined I would need to take but the reality of medical bills, life expenses and my kids to provide for with no income has become overwhelming.

After 6 months of trying to do things on my own, while undergoing treatment; I am mentally stressed and exhausted so I’m asking for help. I don't know what the next 6 months will hold but I know I cannot do this journey on my own. If you can do nothing else, please pray for my strength.
