Support for Amy, Adam, Zeke and Odin

Please help Anna Wreck Shun (of the Rodeo City Rollergirls family) and her family as they support their newborn son who was born with a rare congenital heart disease. We are raising funds to help with costs associated with traveling to and from Seattle and future medical needs for this precious little man.

Here are the details.

Odin was born on Oct 1, at 8:03 am. Great labor and delivery. Sadly, that ended at approximately 4 pm that afternoon. A nurse noticed his color becoming muddled and blue, and discovered a low body temp. The wheels were set in motion, and we are now in the Seattle Children's Hospital cardio NICU. Odin was born with a rare congenital heart disease called Pulmonary Atresia with an Intact Inter-ventricular Septum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_atresia

Without treatment, this disease is fatal. Odin is intibated and stable awaiting his first medical procedure this Friday, a per-cutaneous catheterization. If all goes well, this will be both a diagnostic test and possibly a medical procedure. If the scenario lends itself to complete this first course of action, he will be removed from a very high risk category with the need for open heart surgery within the next year. If the scenario does not lend itself to complete the first procedure, then we will need to prep for open heart surgery next week sometime.

Of course we are heart broken, distraught, and optimistic. To celebrate and mourn to such extremes in the same day just doesn't seem fair. Odin has a long way ahead of him, as does our family. The outpouring of support has been tremendous. We have been assured that we are in the best hands here at Seattle Children's, and so far this seems to be the case.

Let's hope for a successful catheterization Friday and a swift recovery that may get us home within the next week or so.
