Starting Over In The Ashes

Before dawn on October 9, 2017, wildfire chased us from our homes in Sonoma county and leveledh our neighborhood and a large part of our town. It was lucky that the people in my house were awake. It was lucky that we got out with most of our pets and some few belongings. I felt grateful on my birthday, October 10, to have my life and the lives of my friends and pets who were in the house. We thought it was going to be ok, that we would return to the beautiful home and all of our things. But my house is gone. The neighborhood is gone. Every worldly possession i had within its walls has been reduced to ashes. I keep reminding myself that I am luckier than many- my job and my pets and my friends remain safe. I have been hesitant to create a gofundme until now, because my losses have not been as great as others from this fire. But everything I own is gone, and I would be greatly appreciative of any contributions made to help me get back on my feet after the firestorm. The funds will be spent to replace belongings like clothes and furniture. Anything above the stated goal for the gofundme fundraiser will be contributed to others, like the housemates who shared the house and firefighters who lost homes in the fires.

This gofundme has been set up by and for Alexis Pasterick to recover from the devastating wildfire that took her house in Santa Rosa, California.
