Alan’s Long Road To Recovery

As many of you know, Alan was the passenger in a terrible car accident on July 9, 2017. He suffered a number of life threatening injuries including a fractured spine, ruptured aorta and massive trauma to his abdomen. Miraculously, the team at Westchester Medical Center was able to save Alan’s life.After multiple surgeries and procedures Alan was finally able to leave WMC but still had no use of his legs, among other debilitating issues. He began his rehabilitation at Burke in White plains. I am happy to say that after more than 3 months, Alan is coming home!!! We are overjoyed and overwhelmed all at once. As far as Alan has come, he is still confined to a wheelchair. Medical insurance has covered most of his hospital expenses however there are still tons of things, not covered by insurance, that Alan needs to make the transition possible for him. Kelley has been out of work since having baby Eliana in August, 2016 and hasn’t had any income for some time now. Just the cost of gas, tolls and parking have been devastating for her. She needs help and would NEVER ask for it. Well, that’s what best friend are for!!! I’m setting up this Go Fund Me account for Kelley. I know that she still needs certain “wheelchair friendly” items that are not covered by insurance. For example, ramps and numerous custom (due to the type of injuries) items for Alan. Kelley will also be bringing him back to Burke at least 3 times a week for outpatient rehabilitation. It all adds up quickly. I can’t imagine going through all that they’ve been through and not having the finances needed for any of it. If you are able to help Kelley by donating to the fund please do so.
