Houston Tamil Schools

We, Tamils, live in Houston and metro-areas in large numbers. We want our children to learn, practice, and benefit from our ancient language Tamil. With this main purpose in mind, we have started Tamil Schools in Houston metro areas including Pearland, Katy, and The Woodlands. The name of this school system is Greater Houston Tamil School, Inc. (GHTS). It is registered in the state of Texas as a non-profit organization. We expect IRS recognition to that effect anytime now. Our website is www.houstontamilschools.org. Currently, more than 200 students are enrolled for the current school year. Our school year is same as Texas Education Agency set for various independent school districts in Texas. We need this fund to secure accreditation from Advanced Ed (http://www.advanc-ed.org/). This accreditation shall enable students of GHTS transfer their Tamil Language credits to their high school graduation credits. We are going to use this fund for (a) paying fees to Advanced Ed for initial registration and subsequent renewals; (b) training teachers; (c) buying tools and equipment for teaching; and (d) any other expenses related to maintaining standards required as per accreditation.
