In Loving Memory Of Jarrell D. Dent

Donation protected
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I create this GoFundMe in support of my cousin, Renee Michelle Dent.

Renee's dear son, Jarrell David Dent, is being called to be home with the Lord.

Out of respect to Jarrell's entire family I will leave this description brief but ask you all for your support by contributing a donation to assist Renee with costs associated with this unimaginably difficult time.
Renee is living a nightmare no parent should ever experience.  If you are reading this post please take a moment to say a prayer for this young man and his grieving family.

My cousin has made the selfless and brave choice to donates Jarrell's organs.

The following text is from Renee.  It describes the photo I attached to this GoFundMe.

"I’ve been a mother who has lost her son for 31 hours. I have felt every possible range of emotion from vile anger to disappointment, fear to hopelessness, despair to shock, hope to sorrow, guilt to love, regret to pride. In a million and a million more years I could never have seen this day come. Mothers don’t watch their son’s chest rise & fall by virtue of horrible tubes & a machine with a whirring noise that now won’t leave my psyche. We raise them as best we can, then send them out into the world, trusting they will be fine, & wait for them to bring us grandchildren. I realise this ordeal has only begun. I have an entire lifetime ahead of me to learn a new way to live without a child I carried so happily in my womb. At 9 pm today I signed my beloved Jarrell’s name & my name to a paper promising his lungs, liver, kidney, corneas, and his heart to those who have been waiting (some years even) for these organs that they may have a better quality of life. Our dr stated that 1/300 agree to this, further confirmation that Jarrell is a special human. Whilst it was excruciating emotionally to sign our names (I kept stopping to catch my breath), I found some peace the size of a tiny seed in it...

...His Dad, Brie, and I were each presented with this Medal of Honor from an organisation called “Life Sharing”. Many different physicians (cardio thoracic, nephrologist, etc) are in the operating room, some even from out of state at the ready to deliver these organs via helicopter. Prior to his 4-6 hr surgery they will read the words we wrote as a legacy to our precious Jarrell & have a moment of silence as they believe this time and place is sacred ground.

I share this story because I love my son more than life and if there is one last gift I can give him as his Mother for 27 years, I will help him have what HE wanted, I will help him see HIS wishes be met. May God in heaven eternally bless this beautiful boy God gifted us & may he join the angels who surround us in our lives."

Thank you all for reading this message and for your continued thoughts, prayers, love, compassion , and strength.  As it is the reason my cousin is able to endure this tragically heartbreaking goodbye.
