Team Ella

Many of you have asked to help during Ella's next few weeks in the hospital to make the burden less. We appreciate your support and love beyond words. Ella has a rare intestinal disorder called Enteric neuropathy which is a condition of the digestive system. In simple terms the gut stops functioning, due to degradation of the nerves and muscles. In Ella's case her nerves and muscles are affected...The condition affects all parts of the digestive tract. There is no known cure or treatment for Enteric neuropathy at this time; it is only possible to work on symptom management. In easier terms Ella has intestinal failure...Ella is unable to eat and is 100% TPN dependant. (IV Nutrition) Our goal is to get Ella off of TPN. Is it likely probably not but if we can get her hours down from where they are now the future will look a lot better for her.
