Emil Firkus: Funeral and Burial

Hello, My name is Joshua Mauro. As some of you may know my grandfather, Emil Firkus, recently passed away last evening at UMC Medical Intensive Care Unit. He was born in December of 1928 and lived a long, beautiful life. He helped raise me from the day I was born and has shaped me into the person I am today. Emil loved to laugh, spend time with family, and celebrate the good times. He always brought a special presence whenever he entered a room and always tried to make others happy. He served in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge while serving. The reason why I am starting this GoFundMe is to help us with some of the viewing/cremation services. His death was something that happened extremely unexpectedly and us as the immediate family weren't prepared for it. My mother, Katy and my brother, Jacob, are his only family in Las Vegas and a lot of his brothers and sisters are passed on.
