Class Of 1995 Helping Carla Morrison

Hello Class of 1995 AHS classmates and others who know Benji from school. We are raising money to help their family take a couple of trips and make memories to last a lifetime. Please read Carla and Benji Morrison's story below. Please donate something even if it is a few dollars. Anything helps and is gratefully appreciated!! We want to help one of our fellow classmates in this time of need!!!Here is Carla's story:Dear Friends and Family, As most of you know my story, I wanted to give a brief overview. In October 2013, I began my battle with the “C” word, leiomyosarcoma of the bone. I underwent chemotherapy and surgery to remove the tumor in my right arm. We had several months of being in remission and really felt hopeful that it would never come back. March 2015, we started noticing a few spots on my lungs and felt they should just be watched. By October, they were continuing to grow and multiply so we started chemo again. By this time the cancer had spread to my ribs, hips, pelvis, spine and scapula. So for almost 2 years I have been doing chemotherapy treatments on an every 21 day cycle. Until the end of May 2017, my body decided that it didn’t like chemo anymore. My platelets and white blood cells began to drop and my liver was shutting down from the toxicity of the chemo. So we took a little 3 month break to let my body heal. Fast forward to September. My appointment at MD Anderson was one of the most devastating yet. My cancer has become very aggressive. The lung lesions are larger and more in number, the spine lesions are growing, including new ones in my neck, it has moved to my liver and I have 7 lesions on my brain. I just finished brain radiation and began chemo again Friday. As you can imagine, this is not what we wanted to hear. We always knew that my cancer was not curable but we just never thought we would be at this point. As you probably know from other cancers that my prognosis isn’t good. I know only the Lord knows when he’s ready to call us home but I know my time will be a lot sooner than most of yours. You may be asking why I am writing to you all. And here’s the truth. My family needs your prayers. Prayers for peace, understanding and comfort. Also I have a few dreams that I need your help in fulfilling. I really want to see beautiful Colorado in the winter and have a memorable vacation for my family. Someone has graciously donated their house to us for Thanksgiving. We need your help in getting there, doing activities, letting the kids ski, etc. I want to have a blast with them. I want to do this before I am too sick to enjoy it. Also I have never seen beautiful, crystal clear water and would like to take a trip to Mexico or the Caribbean. This may not be able to happen, but it is on my bucket list along with my son Zane’s. I just want the last months or even year that I have with my family to be an awesome time. So many people have asked how could they help us and as you know everything cost money, and so I pray that you would consider helping us out financially.
