Hurley the dog is our 7 year old Golden Retriever/Labrador mix, and an absolute sweetheart with his own unique and loveable personality.
We adopted Hurley back in 2010 through Golden Huggs Rescue, who saved him from an overcrowded kill shelter down in Tennessee and transported him and dozens of other rescues up to the New England area to start new lives with loving families.
Hurley is an active dog and we've endeavored to encourage his love of hiking, running, and playing fetch. Unfortunately, all it takes sometimes is one bad leap when deciding that the 3 stairs up to the deck are unnecessary when coming in for dinner, and now our poor furbaby has a torn Cranial Cruciate Ligament in his knee requiring surgery.
The good news is the surgery is fairly common, and return of full mobility is expected. The bad news is that this common surgery's cost exceeds our emergency funds.
I know in this day and age we're all facing hardships, and while we have covered all consultations and care up to this point out of pocket, the truth is that we're stretched pretty thin, and hard as it is, I'm setting aside pride and reaching out to family, friends, and animal loving Samaritans or organizations. Anything you can spare would help and be immensely appreciated.
If by some good fortune donations exceed our goal, any excess funds would be donated to Golden Huggs Rescue and our local humane society who have been helping local families and rescue animals for years by running walk-in clinics with discounted pricing for shots and micro-chipping.
Thank you all.
