FIGHT WITH GERTRUDE-BEAT CANCER

Never do any of us think we will hear "you've got cancer" in our lifetime. But that is exactly what happened to my darling Gertrude .Her cancer journey began in March 2017. She felt a lump in her breast and went to see the doctor. The same day they did a mammogram, an ultrasound, and a biopsy. A few days later she got a call saying she has 2 cancerous lumps in her breast with a diagnosis of Differentiated Ductal Carcinoma. Her therapy would include a lumpectomy, followed by 5 months of chemotherapy, and then radiation therapy.Gertrude had a lumpectomy performed on April 18, 2017 and a port to start chemotherapy was also put on June 29, 2017. She started her chemotherapy on July 2, 2017 and it is still on going. The treatment is very harsh and tough but my sweetheart is staying strong and positive about it. Some days are very bad and some are not so bad. Right now she is having some blood clots and swelling on her left arm, but by His Grace she will win this battle against breast cancer.My dear friends, family, and well wishers, this story is very real to Gertrude and she has decided to fight and beat this cancer. The financial expenses for the appointments, treatments, medications, and after care are high even with her insurance. Cancer not only takes a toll on one physically, but also emotionally and financially. It continues to be a rough road for my family but we try to stay strong in order to survive this disease.We welcome you to join us in this fight.
