Love is.....

I’m starting this Go Fund Me for my cousin; Amy Couture Dunner.   Some of you know her or have read one of her blogs; she’s a 38-year-old mom and wife, and she has cancer; stage 4 colon cancer, it has traveled to her lungs, her liver and is growing into her pancreas; she has lost her ovaries, her uterus, any female reproductive organs any woman would need, are gone; she has lost over a third of her colon and at one point she had an ileostomy bag. It has been four years from hell, but looking at her you would never know it. You wouldn’t know that the medicines make her so sick that she has to go to the emergency for morphine and fluids or that some of her medicines make her fingers and feet so dry that they crack and bleed; you would never know any of that, because she doesn’t ever let it get the best of her, she always says that it can be worse and she means it. Four years ago, when she was diagnosed, she was a single mom and she lived at home with my aunt and uncle. In the four years that she’s been battling this; she’s had five surgeries and been told three times that she was in remission; she’s had more chemotherapy drugs than I can remember the names of; she’s raised her son from a toddler to a first grader; she’s fallen in love, gotten married and been gifted with five more kids to love; cancer hasn’t stopped her. She lives her life and loves each minute of it, even the bad ones that most people would think were awful, but sometimes things aren’t easy. My cousin, she doesn’t ask for much help, but she needs it and this is why I am writing this, telling you about her, because I am asking for help for her. She can’t work, because right now her job is staying alive; she is starting a trial in Boston soon; to and from every day for however long it works, hopefully years. Unfortunately, their family qualifies for no assistance in any way, nothing, and the stress on her and her husband; its too much, and there is literally nothing that they can do to bring in any more income. This is a family with six kids; she’s a Mansfield girl and her husband is a Mansfield guy, she’s an amazing person and they are an amazing family; I just want to make something a little bit easier for her. I’d love for her to have one less thing to worry about at night when she’s lying in bed. I know that no one is in an ideal financial situation, I’m certainly not, but anything can help, because everything adds up, and I’m hoping that it can add up to something big. Please think about helping Amy and her family, they’re all pretty awesome.
