Medical Aid For Jeff Olcott

I'm Jeff's mom. Those who know and love us know how hard he's worked to turn his life around. He's struggled mightily and been hugely successful. In the midst of this, he was diagnosed with a debilitating and sometimes, life threatening, illness. Crohn's Disease. He wasn't working when first hospitalized and was entitled to NJ Healthcare. He had no out of pocket expenses. He found a full time job and works very hard in between hospitalizations and treatments. He was finally moving towards remission on Remicade. He receives an infusion every 2 months at a cost of $33,000. His insurance covered it in full. In August, he was notified that his insurance would be cancelled because he earned $1000 more than his plan allowed. We scrambled for new insurance. He missed his last Remicade treatment and is getting quite sick, again, awaiting approval for the drug from new insurance company. However, he will now have a $650 deductible, along with co-pays and $2000 out of pocket expenses, before anything will be paid for. It will take him many months to save that amount. He cannot go untreated for much longer. He didn't want me to do this page. But, it seems to me, this is exactly what this site is for...helping those who are truly in need.
