Hi everyone first off THANK YOU for taking the time to read Jacobs story. This past week Jacobs family learned that his Meningioma Tumor has returned.
...In 2014 when he was 8 years old, Dr's discovered after just a routine eye checkup that Jacob had a massive tumor the size of an orange behind his left eye. Jacob spent 21 days in Minneapolis Children's Hospital where they removed the tumor. Jacob and his family returned home after 2 long months of doctoring. I can still picture them pulling into the yard where family members were waiting to welcome them home and out jumps Jacob with a big smirk, full of hugs, petting the dogs Like nothing happened! He seemed to be the same bright happy boy but indeed he wasn't quite the same because he was now missing part of his eyesight, his life had changed dramatically, Jacob accepted his life change Like a champ, he never gave up faith and often revealed to his mom how often he prayed. Jenn and Nathan have been looking into a pair of eyeglasses that will help him with his school work and day to day life but they are in the vicinity of around $10,000. For the past 3 years Jacob has been returning to Minneapolis for checkups, adjusting to the changes and carrying on his life doing things normal little boys do, All was great, until last week when they sadly revealed that the tumor had returned in a different spot, behind the nasal area and is about the size of a ping pong ball. This week Jacob will endure his 5th surgery with 2 weeks to recover following 6-8 weeks of Radiation. Jenn and Nathan will have to relocate to Minneapolis Minnesota for the next 2 months.
