Raising money for a prosthetic leg
Donation protected
Hi, Friends! My bro-in-law, Roy B., and his son, Jon, were in a tragic car accident on June 11, 2013. Roy sustained many injuries during this life changing accident, and we praise God he is still alive. One injury he sustained is an amputated leg.
The purpose of this request is because I need some help. Roy is trying to get his life back together so he can return to work to help support his family. As part of this process, he will need to purchase a prosthetic leg. Do to his amputation being very high on his leg, he will need a more expensive model in order to function. He just found out that his insurance will only pay 80% of the cost. He has to pay the 20% up front before they will even start making him one. The cost of a cheaper one he is looking at is $40,000. His part would be $8,000. The one that would be nice for him to have is pushing $95,000. Which would make his part nearly $20,000.
Tina, my sister, and Roy have been going through so much. Not to mention they have lost one income in their household. They have kept their faith in God to see them through this terrible storm in their lives. You never hear them complain or ask for anything. So, I'm asking for your help.
I would love to be able to raise enough money for them to not have to worry about the 20%. They have enough worries with bills and meeting the needs of their three children.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your help in making a difference for this wonderful family.
