A Heart For Robby

Robby Jackson has a special heart. When he was an infant, it almost failed him completely. He would have died apart from the mercy of God. Doctor's worked to save his life, but they were not sure how long his heart would hold up. Miraculously, Robby has lived a relatively healthy life and his heart has been strong. This year, Robby went in for a scheduled exam to determine the strength of his heart and to forecast his future adult life, based on his heart's health. What the exam revealed caused the doctors to perform additional tests and ultimately led to Robby being immediately scheduled for a very difficult surgery. This happened as he and his wife, Cara, also discovered they are expecting their first son. The severity of Robby's heart condition caused enough alarm among his doctors that they forced him to go on disability, leaving Cara as the primary income for their family, which would be changing when their son arrives. In addition to the now limited income, Robby's multiple exams maxed out his insurance and he is no longer eligible to receive full coverage for his surgeries.
This leads us to today.
The joy and newness of expecting a child (a miracle of it's own!) mixed with the anxiety of a pending surgery would more than most could bear. Many of us know the fears and stresses of childbirth. Becoming a new parent is scary! Facing a surgery is stressful and full of anxious moments, both before surgery and during recovery. Couple these things with a decreasing budget, and it becomes unhealthy. Unhealthy for Robby as he must focus on getting well. Unhealthy for Cara and their son, because stress only complicates childbirth.
This is where we (you and I) come in. We're coming together on Robby and Cara's behalf to come alongside them and to help them through this time in their lives. We are all familiar with hardship, and we remember the moments when people entered into our suffering and lifted us up by helping in whatever way possible.
Right now, Robby and Cara need our prayers, our love and our financial support. The things we bring to help them will be essential to seeing them come through this time a whole and healthy family. Let's come together to show our love for this family. Let's come together and give Robby the gift of a new heart.
