Help Jillian Recover From Maria

Donation protected

Good day, I am reaching out for help for this amazing mother and her 3 children. Here is her story... "My name is Jillian and I am a mother to three amazing young girls. I am happy my girls and I survived Hurricane Maria healthy and together. Unfortunately, a tornado hit the condo we were renting and took the roof and a portion of the top floor causing our downstairs ceiling to collapse. We are grateful for any support we can have in moving on in from this experience." Here is my addition to her story... I have had the privilege to watch these 3 little girls run around and play in our courtyard pool area. They are so full of energy and brought such joy and laughter to our hearts. On September 19 Jillian and her girls did what each of us in the complex did. We completed our Hurriciane prep and devised a plan for "what if"... about 11pm we began to feel hurricane force winds and by 4am the 175 mph winds of Cat 5 Hurricane Maria had calmed. When daylight finally came this beautiful, strong, loving mommy gathered her children from their safe place and walked out of their home. The spirit and strength of Jillian has had a magnetic attraction to my heart which compelled me reach out and help. I have learned that this mommy works at a local spa as a massage therapist. Her employment depends and the rebuilding of our island resulting in her inability return to work for many months. She will have to find a new place to live and completely start over. When I visited with her we discussed her needs. Another resident offered her a bedroom in her condo in which to live until she is able to take the next step. Rentals will be difficult to find here once people get out of rescue phase and into recovery. Landlords will ask for first & last months rent along with a deposit. Jillian also suffered damage to her car (broken windshield and some electronic something causing the alarm to go off sporatically.) Rent and car repair will be the major expenses she will endure. She will also have smaller expenses of household contents and daily needs. If you have the ability to help please give. 100% of the campaign will go to Jillian and her girls. It is my hope that by pulling together for this one family they will step out of the rescue phase and will begin the long journey of recovery.
