Brook Derksen's College Fund
Donation protected
Josh Derksen was killed in a tragic car accident on Feb 25th, leaving behind his wife and 3 year old daughter. Josh was a career wildland firefighter for the US Forest Service who willingly put his life on the line to protect life and property across the nation every fire season. This campaign is being set up to help set up a small college fund for his daughter, Brook. The loss of an income is difficult for any family, and while his wife is employed, that income doesn't spread far enough to be able to cover much beyond month to month expenses. Education continues to be highly valued in the Derksen household, and your contribution will contribute to a lump sum which will be invested into an appropriate college investment account to be determined based on donations received.
The loss of a parent is an unspeakable tragedy, but monetary contributions in his name to send a little girl to college one day is a beautiful legacy that the Derksen family would be deeply grateful for. Josh Derksen fought fire every year to provide as much as possible for his family, please consider helping a family out for a value that means so much to them in his stead.
