Hurricane Harvey/Claudia Delgado

Donation protected
When hurricane Harvey hit the Houston area in September, Claudia Delgado, who is a former Shell Oil Company employee, and her 15-year-old son, Andre', lost their home, car, and all of their furniture. Her losses were sustained due to the decision of the Corp of Engineers releasing water from the Addicks Dam which immediately flooded several neighborhoods with 3 to 5 feet of water. People in these areas were not given time to even leave their homes. Claudia lost her job with Shell two years ago. She has been working part time jobs but has been unable to find full-time employment. In light of her current flood situation it is impossible for her to continue with a job search as she has no transportation. She is having to rely on the kindness of others to allow her to stay in someone's home, loan her a car in order to take her son to school, to do her laundry and take her grocery shopping. Because of the stress involved with the flood her diabetes has gone into overdrive and she has broken out with psoriasis all over her body from the stress. It is almost like the story of Job! Just one calamity after another. I would like to help by raising some money to help Claudia get through this difficult time. Claudia does have flood insurance and she is hopeful that she can get her home rebuilt but that isn't helping her in her current circumstance. Any contributions will be gratefully received. Thank you so much for your kind consideration. Susan Dansby
