Our Story
Sex education has historically been heteronormative. Still today, 40 per cent of young lesbian, gay, bi and trans people are never taught anything about LGBT issues at school according to the Stonewall school report. We are invested in a sex education that is inclusive, queer-feminist, intersectional, and reflects on everyone’s needs and real-life experiences.
With your support we will be able to start our online conference “Queering Sex-ed: A Solution Orientated Think Tank”. This alone will help reduce the barriers of marginalized people such as Intersex, Trans and Queer people face in their daily life. The first event will be held October 8-10th which we have invited a wide range of speakers. These educators, body workers and activist specialize in alternative knowledge production and dissemination of sexuality and relationships. A majority of our speakers have at one time in their life faced marginalization and precarious working conditions. This is why they are perfect to help produce helpful insight in these exclusive think tanks we strive to provide those who are impacted.
With your help we will be able to create an equal world by providing our “Queering Sex-ed: A Solution Orientated Think Tank”. Your contributions will help us support those who are sharing their expertise during the sessions.
Why are you starting this go fund me/Why is this so important/why we need this money?
We work on a grassroots level, which means unpaid and in our free time. Applying for funding from foundations and institutions requires high amounts of time and expertise that goes beyond our capacity. To make this event possible, we depend on you to help pay the speakers and participants of our think tank. In order to provide the best experience possible, the speakers will be compensated for their time and insight. Even the speakers have been exposed to policing and policy change caused by the outbreak of COVID-19. This has caused a major issue with sex workers rights, transgender/ transsexuals treatment discrimination, and racial discrimination against black and people of color.
How does this impact other people? How will their funds help, create radical shift in people's lives?
Donating to our project will have a direct impact how sex education is taught. We will provide important information that targets the shortcomings and discrimination of heteronormative sexuality education for sex educators and organizations. This alone will truly help support young LGBTQA+ people receive the education in schools they need and deserve. The workshops will directly speak to adults who want to expand their horizons of sexuality, gender identity and relationships. Any and all donations will go directly to the impactful speakers that whole heartily support this imperative need. Our goal is to raise 5500€ which will give us the foundation we need for “Queering Sex-ed: A Solution Orientated Think Tank” to reach any and everyone.
