Terri And Scott's Irma Assistance.

We have had some friends and family express their desire to help with the affects of Irma and they have expressed that instead of sending money to a "fund" that they would like to help us, their friends, with our home repairs. This is so very very humbling to us. We have asked for your prayers ... and felt them... and that has helped more than you could ever know. We did not have any kind of insurance... we have tried many times and with many different companies to insure our home and /or the contents and because our home is older they deem it uninsurable. I believe the cut off year is 1986 and ours is just a little older than that. At the request of some friends we will establish a Go Fund me account to help with the repairs to our home. We do not have an estimate at this time but will certainly get one and make it available to anyone that wants to see it. Here is a list of the things that we know are damaged thus far.... we anticipate when we are able to get back home we could find more. For now this is what we know: Portion of roof and soffit on front right side is gone Soffit is totally missing across front of home including car port and shed Roof leak in kitchen over the back door with ceiling damage Kitchen window leaked Living room window (left side) leaked Windows in sun room blown in, damaged and some frames are bent Due to no AC and the incredible humidity we fear that mold may begin so we will be cleaning all walls, windows, etc with bleach and will need carpets professionally cleaned We still have no water and no electricity (thus we have lost all of our food). We have photo documentation of all of this and we have applied for assistance from FEMA. Not sure on the time frame from FEMA but many of these things must be fixed ASAP so that we don't have more damage when it rains. As soon as the power returns (they are telling us by midnight Sunday) we will get back there and begin the clean up and repair process. Again, we are humbled by the out pouring of prayers and the offers of help and we thank each and every one of you for your continued prayers as we move forward.
