VI Strong Hurricane Relief For STT

My name is Kristina Fillback. I lived in the United States Virgin Islands on St Thomas for almost five years. My daughters father and his family are all there as well. Our beautiful island paradise has been ravaged by Hurricane Irma. St Thomas, St John, and the BVI's took a direct hit.. 80% of the island is destroyed. 40,000 are homeless. They are trying to evacuate as many people as they can right now. They have no fresh drinking water, their food supply is almost gone since the barges can't get into the waters. The government is predicting that it will be at least six months without power but possibly up to a year..... They live off of rain water that is held underneath homes, in a cistern. It runs with a pump, but without power it doesn't work. No showers or toilets, or running water for almost a year is hard to imagine for us here on the mainland. Yes some have generators, but the islands fuel supply is already gone. I'm asking for your help!!! Our little "coconut telegraph" via Facebook has helped us islanders locate and confirm our friends and family are alive and ok... Let's keep using the power of social media in a good way...
