The Rick Sutton Family Benevolence Fund

"As many of you may already know, Rick Sutton had a stroke on Friday, September 13th, 2013 that they thought was minor, but turned out to be a major stroke. Then he had a secondary stroke Saturday September 14th, 2013. He lost the use of the left side of his body including his left eye. They performed an exploratory surgery on Saturday late afternoon/early evening and found out he had a dissection and blood clot in his carotid artery on the right side of his neck. Essentially a whole side of his brain is not getting bloodflow, and therefore not getting oxygen and dying. This is causing his brain to swell, which is life threatening, so they did a craniectomy on Saturday night and removed a part of his skull in order to allow room for the brain swelling. They have put him in a medically induced coma. This is so they can keep his body as cold as possible (35 degrees celsius) to reduce the swelling in his brain. Thankfully, his body responding well to the treatment and his brain swelling is going down, but now his lungs are thickening, which could possibly lead to pneumonia. Please pray that doesn't happen. We would appreciate your prayers for Kathleen's husband Rick Sutton's healing/recovery and all the support and practical needs for his family. Rick was the primary financial provider for his family. He is now unable to do so. As you can imagine, there will be many financial needs to cover in the absence of his income, present and future.
