Thomas Family Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
A friend of ours, Daniel Franklin Thomas, returned from Sundance at Keekseekowinin to discover his house burned down. He lost his home, and everything in it. We are asking for donations to help Daniel and his family during this devastating time. Every donation counts! Daniel worked in education for 46 years and is retired. Often a "retired" traditional Ojibwe Elder leads a busier life than before retirement. Daniel currently teaches a course at the University of Winnipeg in Indigenous World Views and Perspectives. He is an Elder in Residence at the university, and an Elder in Residence for the Seven Oaks School division. Daniel has conducted Sundance for 19 years and has conducted numerous other ceremonies, including sweat lodge, naming, and finding clans. Daniel continues to serve the people and community through traditional Anishinaabe ceremony and by teaching and training others to do the same. Please help this family rebuild their lives and recover from the fire. Miigwetch (Thank you)!

*Please note that since I started the campaign in US dollars, and can't change it to Canadian dollars, I will have to electronically withdraw the funds from Go Fund Me and transfer the funds directly to Daniel Franklin Thomas. Daniel is aware of this and has agreed it is ok to do it this way. 100% of the donations withdrawn in this campaign will go to Daniel as soon as they are withdrawn. We are sharing this information for transparency purposes. Thank you!
